15 <br /> SOUTH BEND ANIMAL RESOURCE CENTER (SBARC) / <br /> ANIMAL WELFARE <br /> The South Bend Animal Resource Center(SBARC) houses the staff of Animal Welfare <br /> Officers and Assistants who serve the community by enforcing the animal control <br /> ordinance and offering supportive animal services to animal owners in the community. <br /> Adoptions <br /> In 2024, 378 animals were adopted from SBARC. <br /> SBARC participated in The Bissell Foundation's "Empty the Shelter" event four times. During these <br /> events, 45 animals were adopted. Due to the success of the events, Bissell awarded SBARC$2,510 of <br /> grant funds towards the shelter and its animals. <br /> SBARC also hosted on site or participated in other adoption events through the city or surrounding <br /> areas such as: Crooked Ewe Pet Food Drive, Waggin in the Woods, The Lauber Patio Pups, Drool at the <br /> Pool at Kennedy Water Park, South Bend Police Department's Night Out, Dog Days of Summer,The <br /> Saint Patrick's Day Parade, Halloween Event of Cops and Goblins, Fundraisers at Taphouse on the edge <br /> and Texas Road House, partnership with Pigeon and Hen Pottery for multiple cat adoption events. <br /> Through these events SBARC raised an additional $4,925.25 for the animals and shelter. <br /> • <br /> r •. a ry.y� i" ' <br /> w V c wr�C <br /> Sr <br /> Drool at the Pool at Kennedy Water Park.
