REGULAR MEETING September 23, 2024 <br /> $3,501,690 FROM THE LOCAL INCOME TAX — <br /> PUBLIC SAFETY FUND (#249), $615,000 FROM <br /> THE IT/INNOVATION/311 CALL CENTER <br /> FUND (#279), $200,000 FROM THE WATER <br /> WORKS OPERATIONS FUND (#620), $2,000,000 <br /> FROM THE WATER WORKS CAPITAL FUND <br /> (#622), $61,500 FROM THE SEWAGE WORKS <br /> OPERATIONS FUND (#641), $339,365 FROM <br /> THE CENTURY CENTER OPERATIONS FUND <br /> (#670), AND $20,000 FROM THE SELF-FUNDED <br /> EMPLOYEE BENEFITS FUND (#711). <br /> Clerk Tirado read the bill to the Council for its third (3rd)reading. <br /> After the third (3rd) reading, Council President McBride requested a committee report. <br /> Councilmember Lee stated Bill No. 49-24 was heard in the Committee of the Whole and comes to <br /> the Full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Councilmember Tomas Morgan motioned for the passage of Bill No. 49-24, seconded by <br /> Councilmember Warner, and carried by a vote of eight (8) ayes with one (1) Councilmember <br /> absent. <br /> Council President Sharon McBride—Aye Council Vice President Sheila Niezgodski—Aye <br /> Councilmember Canneth Lee—Aye Councilmember Ophelia Gooden-Rodgers—Aye <br /> Councilmember Troy Warner—Aye Councilmember Sherry Bolden-Simpson—Aye <br /> Councilmember Dr. Oliver Davis—Absent Councilmember Karen L. White—Aye <br /> Councilmember Rachel Tomas Morgan—Aye <br /> Councilmember White stated that the vote for the 2025 City budget will occur on October 14, <br /> 2024. <br /> RESOLUTIONS <br /> BILL NO. <br /> 24-30 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br /> DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br /> COMMONLY KNOWN AS 619 SHERMAN <br /> AVENUE, SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46616 AND <br /> 620 SHERMAN AVENUE, SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA 46616 AND 1021 %2-1023 %2 LINCOLN <br /> WAY WEST, SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46616 AN <br /> ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA FOR <br /> PURPOSES OF AN EIGHT-YEAR (8) REAL <br /> PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT FOR PROPERTY <br /> BROS LLC <br /> Clerk Tirado read the resolution to the Council. <br /> Council President McBride asked for a committee report. <br /> Councilmember Warner stated that this Bill was heard in the Community Investment Committee <br /> and comes to the Full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Erik Glavich, Director of Growth and Opportunity, with offices on the 14th floor of the County- <br /> City Building, presented Bill No. 24-30. The eight (8) year tax abatement is for Property Bros <br /> LLC. Four (4) duplexes will be built on these properties. Property Bros LLC has been building <br /> affordable housing in the City for the last two (2) years. Total private investment has been one <br /> 13 <br />
