SPECIAL MEETING DECEMBER 3, 1999
Building, South Bend, Indiana made the presentation for this bill.
Mr. Powell informed the Council that this bill requests a temporary account transfer from the Sewer
Repair Insurance Fund. He noted that the Water Works Insurance Fund was hit hard due to the
diversion of water as the Pinhook Filtration Plant was closed for renovation and then put back on
line and the North Station was shut down for the installation of pressure filters. This caused changes
not only in the flow of water but in many cases in pressure as well. Mr. Powell noted that this
money will be repaid to the fund in 2000.
Mr. Powell, in response to a question from Councilmember King that there is no doubt that this
money will be repaid, stated that as an accounting procedure he has been told that it is better to do
this in the year 2000 than this year.
A Public Hearing was held on the Resolution at this time.
There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to this
Resolution, Councilmember Kelly made a motion to adopt this Resolution. Councilmember
King seconded the motion which carried and the Resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of seven
(7) ayes.
BILLS - FIRST READING
There were no bills presented for first reading at this time.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Council President Coleman reminded members of the Council that the Northern Indiana Center for
History will be hosting a reception on December 13`h and all Councilmembers have been invited.
NEW BUSINESS
There was no new business to come before the Council at this time.
PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR
There was no one present wishing to address the Council at this time.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council, Council President Coleman adjourned
the meeting at 12:12 p.m.
ATTEST: ATTEST:
oretta J Du a, ity er
Sean Coleman, President
1
I
