REGULAR MEETING APRIL 12, 1999 <br />calendar years from the date of adoption of the Declaratory Resolution by the Common Council. <br />SECTION II. The Common Council hereby determines that the property owner is <br />qualified for and is granted Real property tax deduction for a period of ten (10) years, and further <br />determines that the petition complies with Chapter 2, Article 6, of the Municipal Code of the <br />City of South Bend and Indiana Code 6- 1.1 -12 et sea. <br />SECTION III. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption <br />by the Common council and approved by the Mayor. <br />s /Sean Coleman <br />Member of the Common Council <br />Councilmember Kelly reported that the�Community and Economic Development Committee met <br />on these bills and recommends these Resolutions to the Council favorably. <br />Councilmember Kelly also noted that there are amendments to both bills to indicate that they are <br />ten (10) year tax abatements and he so moved to accept the amended versions of these bills. <br />Councilmember King seconded the motion which carried, and the Resolutions were amended in <br />the title and in Section II. to indicate that they are ten (10) year tax abatements and not six (6) <br />years. <br />Mr. Frank Perri, Director of Development, The Holladay Group, 227 South Main Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for these two (2) Resolutions. <br />Mr. Perri informed the Council that he is pleased to announce that these projects, totaling more <br />than 162,000 square feet, are fifty per cent (50 %) pre - leased and it anticipated that they will <br />have one hundred thirty (13 0) to one hundred fifty (15 0) people on the site in full employment. <br />He noted that they are moving fast to completion in early summer. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to <br />this Resolution, Councilmember King made a motion for the adoption of Resolution No. 2724- <br />99 as amended. Councilmember Kelly seconded the motion which carried and the Resolution <br />was adopted by a roll call vote of nine (9) ayes. <br />Additionally, Councilmember Kelly made a motion for the adoption of Resolution No. 2725 -99 <br />as amended. Councilmember Hosinski made a motion to refer this bill to the Area <br />Plan Commission.
