REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 22, 2001 <br />solutions. He noted that there are no guarantees that the City will get the recognition but it is felt <br />that the City is putting together a good application and it becomes step one in a long term process <br />for focusing some attention in this area which needs attention. He noted that the City has begun to <br />provide some services to the area through the partnership center, the Urban Enterprise Zone and will <br />continue to expand on those. This is an opportunity to draw people in just as the City does on the <br />commercial corridor projects and downtown partnership. They will draw people in who work in the <br />area and get them involved in finding solutions and new investments for the area. <br />A Public Hearing was held on the Resolution at this time. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to this <br />Resolution, Councilmember Coleman made a motion to adopt this Resolution.
