REGULAR MEETING JUNE 25, 2001 Waiver of Right to Remonstrate against future annexation. Councilmember King noted that there were members of the public present at this time who are interested in this item for the reason that they live inside the City and do not have sewer and water utilities. Councilmember King asked Mr. Gilot to explain the research that his department is doing on this topic. Mr. Gilot stated that the Wastewater Utility for the City has about thirty -five thousand (35,000) customers but they understand that within the corporate limits of the City there are some gaps where there may be some streets that do not have sanitary sewer service available. Over the years those areas were annexed and the extensions were not done. The Council has requested that the Department of Public Works staff put together a geographical information system base map which would indicate the locations of all of the City sanitary sewers in relation to parcels that currently are not serviced so they might quantify the problem and figure out how those properties can get the services that are expected in an urbanized area. This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to this bill, Councilmember Coleman made a motion for favorable recommendation to full Council concerning this bill as substituted. Councilmember Kelly seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. RISE AND REPORT Councilmember Coleman made motion to rise and report to the full Council. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes.
