REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 23, 2001 <br />SECTION VII. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption <br />by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />s /Charlotte Pfeifer <br />Member of the Common Council <br />Councilmember Kelly reported that the Community and Economic Development Committee met on <br />this bill and recommends this Resolution to the Council favorably. <br />Mr. Michael I. Kile, President and CEO, Petersen Printing Corporation, 2920 West Sample Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this Resolution. <br />Mr. Kile requested this abatement to replace some outdated equipment. The new equipment will <br />provide them with the latest technology in electronic prepresss and provide improved production and <br />better efficiencies. The estimated cost of this purchase is about three hundred fifty -five thousand <br />dollars ($355,000.00) and will help maintain the existing permanent full time jobs with a payroll of <br />about $3.1 million dollars. It is expected that this equipment will also create a more competitive <br />environment where they will be able to call back some of the individuals that are currently on layoff. <br />A Public Hearing was held on the Resolution at this time. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to this <br />Resolution, Councilmember Kelly made a motion to adopt this Resolution. Councilmember Varner <br />seconded the motion which carried and the Resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of nine (9) ayes. <br />RESOLUTION NO.2995 -01 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND DESIGNATING <br />CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, COMMONLY KNOWN AS 4246 <br />MEGHAN BEELER COURT AN ECONOMIC <br />REVITALIZATION AREA FOR PURPOSES OF A <br />THREE (3) YEAR REAL PROPERTY TAX <br />ABATEMENT FOR BEE & DEB, LLC <br />WHEREAS, a petition for real property tax abatement has been filed with the City Clerk for <br />consideration by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana requesting that the area <br />commonly known as 4246 Meghan Beeler Court, South Bend, Indiana, and which is more particularly <br />described as follows: <br />THAT PART OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 21, <br />TOWNSHIP 38 NORTH, RANGE 2 EAST, GERMAN TOWNSHIP, <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA <br />WHICH IS DESCRIBED AS: LOT 7A OF THE PLAT OF "WEST <br />CLEVELAND ROAD INDUSTRIAL PARK, SECTION TWO" AS <br />RECORDED BY DOCUMENT NO 9818753 IN THE RECORDS OF <br />THE ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA RECORDER'S OFFICE, <br />CONTAINING 5.30 ACRES MORE OR LESS.
