REGULAR MEETING
JANUARY 8, 2001
Councilmember Varner reported that the Zoning & Annexation Committee met on this bill this
afternoon and because of the lack of a quorum, sends this bill to the Council with no
recommendation.
Mr. John Byorni, Assistant Director, Area Plan Commission, Room 1140 County -City Building,
South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this Area Plan initiated bill.
Mr. Byorni indicated that this bill will amend Chapter 21 of the South Bend Municipal Code to
allow certain types of manufacturing retailers as special exceptions in the "A -3" Mixed Use
Multifamily Residential and Commercial District. The Area Plan Commission conducted a Public
Hearing of this bill on December 19, 2000 and sent this bill to the Council with a favorable
recommendation.
