REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 25, 2002 <br />$2,350.00 For the cost to repair the gold leaf which is tarnishing in the grand lobby <br />ceiling of the Morris. The ceiling area must be resealed to stop the tarnishing <br />process and to protect the investment. <br />$850.00 To cover the cost of the pallet truck to assist in the delivery of supplies on <br />the Morris loading dock. <br />Mr. Andres noted that the total request from Fund #416 is eighty three - thousand nine - hundred <br />dollars ($83,900.00). <br />In response to a question from Councilmember King, Mr. Andres advised that all of these funds <br />come from the surcharge. There is a one dollar ($1.00) surcharge on all tickets sold in the theater <br />and that one dollar ($1.00) is sequestered in Fund #416 for capital improvements or capital items <br />within the Morris Performing Arts Center. He agreed that it is fair to say that this money comes <br />from users of the theater. <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents and <br />opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to this <br />bill, Councilmember Coleman made a motion for favorable recommendation to full Council <br />concerning this bill. Councilmember White seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of <br />nine (9) ayes. <br />- BILL NO. 94 -02 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE COMMON <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />ESTABLISHING A NEW CAPITAL FUND TO BE <br />KNOWN AS THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT <br />DISTRICT SAMPLE /EWING ALLOCATION AREA <br />CAPITAL FUND ( #427) <br />Councilmember King reported that the Community and Economic Development Committee held <br />a Public Hearing on this bill and voted to send it to the Council with a favorable recommendation. <br />Mr. Don Inks, Director, Division of Economic Development, residing at 2030 Hollywood Place, <br />South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this bill. <br />Mr. Inks advised that this bill will create anew fund to be known as the South Bend Redevelopment <br />District Sample /Ewing Allocation Area Capital Fund #427 which is related to the TJX development <br />project and the bonds that were issued to finance that project.
