REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 11, 2003 <br />AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIX MILLION AND 00 /100 <br />DOLLARS ($6,000,000.00) AND APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING OTHER ACTIONS IN RESPECT <br />THERETO <br />This bill had first reading. Councilmember Varner made a motion to refer this bill to the <br />Community and Economic Development Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading <br />on August 25, 2003. Councilmember Kuspa seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of <br />nine (9) ayes. <br />BILL NO. 63 -03 FIRST READING ON A BILL OF THE COMMON <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />APPROPRIATING THE PROCEEDS DERIVED FROM <br />THE INDIANA DEVELOPMENT GRANT FUND IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $1,050,000 WITHIN THE STATE GRANTS <br />FUND (FUND 210) FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING <br />THE DEVELOPMENT COSTS CONNECTED WITH THE <br />TJX/AJ WRIGHT DISTRIBUTION CENTER PROJECT <br />This bill had first reading. JOHN SWANSON <br />Mr. John Swanson, 1321 West Washington, South Bend, Indiana, informed the Council that <br />he would like to remind the them of his request for a place where youth could go to play <br />basketball to keep them out of trouble. He noted that Councilmember Coleman is the <br />Chairperson of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Committee and this issue should <br />come under his jurisdiction. <br />
