PART 2: PRODUCTS <br />2.1 RACEWAYS <br />A. Provide and install raceways as required for the new work. All conduits will be <br />concealed below grade or within the structural elements of the building. Raceways will <br />be Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) as allowed by the NEC. <br />2.2 CONDUCTORS <br />A. Conductors will be THHN, THWN, or XHHW, sized as indicated and installed in <br />accordance with the NEC. No. 12 AWG will be the minimum conductor size allowed for <br />branch circuit wiring. Branch circuit lengths exceeding one hundred feet (100') for 120- <br />volt circuits will have a minimum wire size of No. 10 AWG. <br />B. Class 1 remote-control and signal circuit conductors will not be less than No. 14 AWG. <br />Class 2 low-energy remote-control and signal circuit conductors will not be less than No. <br />16 AWG. <br />2.3 WIRING DEVICES <br />A. Provide wiring devices and plates as indicated by the Contract Documents. Unless <br />otherwise indicated, devices will be standard NEMA configurations for the particular <br />application. <br />B. All devices and plates will be specification grade, 20-amp minimum, unless otherwise <br />indicated or required. Device shall be brown. Cover plate shall be galvanized stamped <br />steel. <br />C. Provide devices as manufactured by Cooper Wiring, Hubbell, General Electric or Pass & <br />Seymour. <br />2.4 OVERCURRENT PROTECTION <br />A. Provide new overcurrent protection as indicated on the Drawings. <br />B. New circuit breakers installed in existing panelboards shall be of the same manufacturer <br />as the panelboard and suitable for use in the panelboard. <br />2.5 GROUNDING AND BONDING <br />A. Provide grounding conductors in all metallic and nonmetallic raceways. Note; that <br />grounding conductors are not indicated on the Drawings (where wire counts are shown) <br />but are required to be provided in all raceways. <br />16000 - 2
