SECTION 15110 <br />PIPE AND FITTINGS <br />PART 1: GENERAL <br />1.1 PIPING <br />A. Provide all piping in accordance with the following requirements unless otherwise <br />specified. <br />PART 2: PRODUCTS <br />2.1 MATERIAL SCHEDULE <br />A. Potable Water: <br />1. Pipe: <br />a. Seamless Type "L" hard copper, ASTM B88. <br />2. Fittings: <br />a. Wrought copper solder joint fittings, ASTM B61, ANSI B16.22. <br />PART 3: EXECUTION <br />3.1 INSTALLATION <br />A. Run piping straight and direct as possible, parallel with walls, partitions and other piping <br />and neatly spaced for service and insulation. Hang piping at or in ceiling from <br />construction above, as close as possible to bottom of slabs, beams, etc. Maintain <br />maximum headroom at all times. <br />B. Remove all foreign matter from piping before installation. <br />C. Pipe shall be cut accurately to measurements established at building, and shall be worked <br />into place without springing or forcing. <br />D. Arrange piping for maximum accessibility for maintenance and repair, and to properly <br />clear windows, doors and other openings. <br />E. No exposed chrome plated piping shall show tool marks or more than one (1) thread at <br />fittings. Fittings, valves and hangers on chrome plated piping shall be chrome plated. <br />F. Use reducing fittings for changes in pipe sizes. <br />G. Provide dielectric couplings wherever copper and ferrous pressure pipe and/or fittings <br />meet. <br />15110 - 1
