B. Provide shop drawings for all items of Mechanical Equipment (water softening and <br />related equipment, piping, valves, pipe insulation). <br />C. Review and approval of shop drawings by the Engineer is for general conformity to <br />design intent only. This review does not authorize changes to the contract sum or relieve <br />the Contractor in any way of his contract obligations. <br />D. Substitutions: <br />1. When a material, product, or method is listed in the Specifications or on the <br />Drawings, it shall be considered the basis of design. Where "or equal" is <br />indicated, other products shall be considered acceptable provided that they meet <br />the design intent (as interpreted by the Engineer) and fit in the available space. <br />Where "or approved equal" is indicated, other products will be considered <br />acceptable provided that they are submitted to and approved by the Engineer <br />(prior to bidding). <br />2. Where indicated herein or on drawings, “Approved Equal” shall mean Engineer <br />approved equal. <br />3. Equipment which will not fit into the proposed rough opening or which will not <br />fit into the assigned space will not be acceptable. <br />1.7 RECORD DRAWINGS <br />A. Maintain accurate records of all changes made during construction. Provide a neatly <br />marked set of prints to the Engineer at completion of the project indicating all field <br />changes. Contractor shall save one set of prints for this purpose in order to neatly <br />coordinate and transfer all marks made on field sets. <br />1.8 WORKMANSHIP <br />A. All materials and equipment shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's <br />recommendations, as approved by the Engineer to conform with the Contract Documents. <br />B. Provide testing and start-up for all equipment as recommended by Manufacturer unless <br />directed otherwise. <br />1.9 SUPERVISION <br />A. Have a thoroughly competent superintendent in charge of the work at all times, <br />experienced in the work to be done under this Contract. Replace anyone not deemed <br />capable by the Engineer upon request immediately, by one who is satisfactory. A <br />satisfactory superintendent, once assigned, is not to be removed without the consent of <br />the Engineer. <br />1.10 OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUALS AND INSTRUCTION <br />15010 - 3
