XXXI. GEOTEXTILE, FOR DRYWELL AND PIPES <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: City of South Bend, Indiana, Department of Public Works, 2022 INDOT <br />Standard Specifications Section 616 <br />B. Additions: <br />1. Geotextile used for perforated drywell and pipe, shall be installed as shown on plans. <br />2. The geotextile material type shall be as described in City's Standards and Specifications, and as <br />described on the plans. <br />3. The acceptable quantities of geotextiles used for perforated drywell and perforated pipes will be <br />paid for at the contractor's unit price per square yard, complete in place. <br />4. The cost of geotextile around the pipes and drywell shall not be paid for separately but shall be <br />incidental to the cost of the Structure, Dry Well, 1800 Gal. <br />XXXII. STRUCTURE BACKFILL, TYPE 1 <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: 2022 INDOT Standard Specifications Section 211 <br />B. Additions: None <br />XXXIII. PIPE, PERFORATED <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: City of South Bend, Indiana, Department of Public Works Standards and <br />Specifications, and 2022, INDOT Standard Specifications Section 715 <br />B. Additions <br />1. Perforated pipes shall be ADS N-12, corrugated dual wall, HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), <br />smooth interior complying with AASHTO M294-94, Type S with pro -link 5.0 joints, capable of <br />passing the ASTM 3212 joint test with 5 PSI pressure. <br />2. Installing Pipe: <br />a. Contractor shall examine each pipe prior to placing, and defective pipes shall not be installed. <br />b. Pipe shall be placed to slope at 0.15% towards each dry well. <br />c. No. 53 aggregate shall be used for bedding and grading. <br />d. Do not place pipe in water, nor place pipe when trench or weather is unsuitable for such <br />work. <br />3. The water used to surcharge pipes prior to pavement placement shall be incidental to furnishing <br />and installation of perforated pipe. <br />4. This work will be measured in accordance with Section 715.13 of the INDOT specifications, <br />except trench excavation, backfill material, trench backfilling, pipe bedding, aggregate for pipe <br />beddings, and excavation trench safety systems shall not be measured directly, but shall be <br />Version 03/15/2023 Page - 10 Public Works Quote <br />
