Investigations <br />The South Bend Police Department took over homicide investigations <br />from the Metro Homicide Unit on October 15th, 2021. Since then: <br />•5 homicide investigations/incidents (6 victims/5 incidents) <br />•3 have individuals have been charged <br />•2 have a suspect identified <br />St. Joseph County SVU will continue to investigate and prosecute child <br />physical (parental only) and sexual abuse, child neglect and <br />exploitation, and adult sex crimes.
