8/30/2022 20 SB Alive Promote hope and peace in the lives of youth and young adults by building a treatment model based on "Alive & Free"principles to address violence in South Bend. Grantees,Training Partners, Community Center,Clergy Community Initiatives Created in 2020 as a division of the Mayor's office.The office was created to focus on providing and supporting youth engagement programming as part of the larger effort to reduce gun violence in South Bend.The office manages the South Bend Alive Grant program,which funds organizations that provide youth engagement activities,and also works closely with the Charles Black and Martin Luther King Community Centers to provide constructive opportunities for youth. VPCs Violence prevention coordinators prepare programs,projects,&events for youth and young adults at the recreation community centers and citywide. Schools,Community Centers,Kroc,SAVE,YMCA, JJC,B&G Club,Robinson Center STREET OUTREACH INFLUENCERS-SOI The SOI are change agents that focus on reducing violence,incarceration, death and recidivism. Work to gain the trust of the community and the highest risk individuals to help prevent violence MLK Dream Center MADE/MBK Unleashes the Power of Communities to Work Together to Solve Problems for Boys and Girls,Especially Young Men and Women of Color,through intentional relationships with community partners. Visits to the schools and weekly meeting times to go over curicculm and life skills to better youths future and follow them onto post- secondary plan College Trip takes place under this initiative GVI/SAVE Cooperative effort between law enforcement, community leadership,social services,and local faith groups to reduce group related violence in the community. Green Light Project falls under this initiative Goodwill,Community Foundation,SFU, Prosecution-Fed/County Charles Black Center 39 40 21
