8/30/2022 <br />20 <br />SB Alive <br />Promote hope and peace in the lives <br />of youth and young adults by building <br />a treatment model based on "Alive & <br />Free"principles to address violence in <br />South Bend. <br />Grantees,Training Partners, <br />Community Center,Clergy <br />Community Initiatives <br />Created in 2020 as a division of the Mayor's office.The office was created to focus on providing and supporting youth engagement programming as part of the <br />larger effort to reduce gun violence in South Bend.The office manages the South Bend Alive Grant program,which funds organizations that provide youth <br />engagement activities,and also works closely with the Charles Black and Martin Luther King Community Centers to provide constructive opportunities for youth. <br />VPCs <br />Violence prevention coordinators prepare <br />programs,projects,&events for youth and young <br />adults at the recreation community centers and <br />citywide. <br />Schools,Community Centers,Kroc,SAVE,YMCA, <br />JJC,B&G Club,Robinson Center <br />STREET OUTREACH <br />INFLUENCERS-SOI <br />The SOI are change agents <br />that focus on reducing <br />violence,incarceration, <br />death and recidivism. <br />Work to gain the <br />trust of the <br />community and the <br />highest risk <br />individuals to help <br />prevent violence <br />MLK Dream <br />Center <br />MADE/MBK <br />Unleashes the Power of Communities to Work Together to Solve <br />Problems for Boys and Girls,Especially Young Men and Women of <br />Color,through intentional relationships with community partners. <br />Visits to the schools and weekly meeting times to go over curicculm <br />and life skills to better youths future and follow them onto post- <br />secondary plan <br />College Trip takes place under this initiative <br />GVI/SAVE <br />Cooperative effort between law enforcement, <br />community leadership,social services,and local <br />faith groups to reduce group related violence in <br />the community. <br />Green Light Project falls under this initiative <br />Goodwill,Community Foundation,SFU, <br />Prosecution-Fed/County <br />Charles Black <br />Center <br />39 <br />40 <br />21
