Mr.Fedder noted that the purpose of the vacation is to protect the children for
public health and safety reasons and to hopefully decrease burglaries in the area.
Dr.Varner noted that the request received a favorable recommendation from the Board of
Public Works. The letter also indicated that if either owner plans to utilize the vacated alley
a recorded easement would be required (copy attached). Discussion then took place with
regard to the recorded easement and it was decided that it would not be necessary.
Following further discussion, Councilmember Aranowsld made a motion seconded by
Councilmember Broden that Bill No. 36-97 be recommended favorably to Council. The
motion passed.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned
at 4:10 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Councilmember David Varner
Chairperson,Public Works and Property Vacation Committee
Attachments
