Insurance benefits are <br /> basically the same as the currant contract however the payment for the election to leave the <br /> City Insurance Program will change from$40.00 per month to$50.00 per month, and Life <br /> Insurance will increase from$10,000.00 to $15,000.00. <br /> The Council Attorney also that the overall negotiations were very positive and that it <br /> was a good team effort by both the FOP Membership as well as the Common Council,City <br /> Administration, and Board of Public Safety. <br /> Council Member Ladewski noted that although this may have been the shortest <br /> negotiations there were at least 40 to 50 hours spent face to face at the Negotiating Table. <br /> He believes that the Negotiations ran smoothly part because the Chief Spokesperson for the <br /> FOP was Mr. Leo T.Blackwell a former Indianapolis Police Officer who understood and <br /> could quickly analyze the problems brought to the table. He noted that he worked well with <br /> the Chief City Negotiator,our Council Attorney. <br /> Following further discussion, Council Member Kelly,made a motion seconded by <br /> Council Member Zakrzewski, that substitute Bill No. 76-94 be recommended favorably to <br /> Council.
