/ questioned whether the City has looked into a system that <br /> Elkhart is using where firefighters can actually change with <br /> a devise the stop lights during emergencies. The Chief <br /> stated that he would look into this from a cost perspective <br /> and safety perspective. <br /> Council Member Voorde stated that during the 1988 fire <br /> negotiations it was made clear that the City has adequate <br /> equipment with the issue basically being one of personnel. <br /> He stated that the Labor Management Committee would be <br /> meeting in its formal second meeting in the very near <br /> future. <br /> Chief Taylor noted that Jack Bland and three firefighters <br /> make a part of the committee which he believes is a good <br /> idea and is looking for positive recommendations. <br /> Following further discussion Council Member Puzzello made a <br /> motion seconded by Council Member Niezgodski that Bill No. <br /> 36-89 be recommended favorably to Council.
