Zoning and Vacation Committee <br /> May 11 , 1987 <br /> Page 2 <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 17-87 which was a bill <br /> to amend the Zoning Ordinance for the property located at 4100 S. <br /> Main Street in the City of South Bend. Mrs. Mangus was the <br /> petitioner who briefly reviewed the project . <br /> Following discussion by the Committee, Councilman Serge made <br /> a motion, seconded by Councilman Puzzello, that Bill No. 17-87 be <br /> recommended favorably to Council . <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 24-87 which is a bill <br /> to vacate all of High Street lying south of the south line of <br /> Hawbaker , and also all of Bowen Street lying west of Miami <br /> Street. Mr. Rick Morgan of the Barnes and Thornburg law firm <br /> represented the developers of the proposed Erskine Plaza. He <br /> noted that this would be a $9 million investment in the south <br /> side of the City. He showed a preliminary drawing of the <br /> proposed shopping center and noted that there were no <br /> remonstraters at the Board of Public Works meeting . <br /> Additionally, he noted that he had letters of support from the <br /> property owners in the area. He also indicated that there would <br /> be a signal on Ireland Road . <br /> Following discussion, Councilman Serge made a motion, <br /> seconded by Councilman Puzzello , that Bill No. 24-87 be <br /> recommended favorably to Council . The motion passed unanimously. <br /> There being no further business to come before the <br /> Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 4:05 p.m. <br /> Respectfully submitted , <br /> Councilman John Voorde, Chairman <br />
