ftnmmtttn &&port <br /> ZONING AND VACATION COMMITTEE <br /> Wu Up Comm you d of (Mg of ennttli i�nsb <br /> The February 23, 1987, meeting of the Zoning and Vacation Committee was <br /> called to order by its Chairman, Councilman John Voorde, at 3:55 p.m. in the <br /> Council informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Councilmen: Paszek, Voorde, Puzzello, Serge, <br /> and Braboy; Captain George Smeltzer and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Councilman Voorde noted that the purpose of the meeting was to review Bill <br /> 6-87 which was a bill to vacate the first east-west alley south of Monroe <br /> Street. <br /> Captain George Smeltzer of the Salvation Army then presented background <br /> information. He noted that the vacation suggestion came from the Planning <br /> Commission. With the vacation, the parking would be cotiguous to the <br /> Salvation Army building and would allow better security. <br /> Following favorable discussion by the Committee, Councilman Voorde noted <br /> that the Board of Public Works recommended favorably on the vacation <br /> request. <br /> Councilman Serge then made a motion, seconded by Councilman Ann Puzzello, <br /> that Bill 6-87 be recommended favorably to Council.
