enmm. trr at port PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE Wu tat Mum= Mount%l of Up CV of fonutil gnu): The July 13 , 1987 meeting of the Parks and Recreation Committee was called to order by its Chairman, Councilman James Barcome, at 4: 00 p .m. in the Council informal meeting room. Persons in attendance included : Councilmen Serge, Braboy , Puzzello, Beck, Taylor, Zakrzewski, Voorde, Paszek, and Barcome; Mr. Michael Vance, Carol Sanders, Mr. James Seitz , Mr. Phil Prawzer , Mr. Robert Niezgodski , members of the news media, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand . Councilman Barcome noted that the first item on the agenda was a review of Bill No. 58-87 which was a bill to appropriate $108, 927.74 from the Zoo Endowment Fund , Account No. 403 , to Account No. 399, Contractual Services. Mr. Seitz , Park Superintendent, noted that the assets were received from the Estate of Susan B. Nickell for public improvements. The trustees of the will had agreed that a "prairie exhibit" could be developed. Mr. Phil Prawzer indicated that the exhibit would have buffalo, sand hill cranes, and similar types of prairie animals. He also indicated that the exhibit would be much safer than the current one.: G ^ Following discussion by the Committee, Councilman Serge made a motion , seconded by Councilman Taylor , that Bill No 58-87 receive a favorable recommendation. The motion passed . The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 64-87 which was a bill appropriating $107 ,496.00 within the Stanley Coveleski Regional Baseball Stadium Fund for 1987. Mr. Vance indicated that this was part of the commitment on the construction costs on that project from the proceeds of the cable television revenues. This was to be the last payment and was received in April for the last six (6) months of 1986. Following further discussion, Councilman Taylor made a motion, seconded by Councilman Beck, that Bill No. 64-87 receive a favorable recommendation. The motion passed . The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 66-87 which was a bill appropriating additional funds in the sum of $411 , 837.00 within the General Fund and $174,679.00 within the Park Maintenance Fund for 1987 . Mr. Vance indicated that such an ordinance would typically be acted upon in December. He then reviewed each of the line items addressed within the proposed bill .
