Page 2. <br /> The Council then discussed specific areas within each councilmanic <br /> district which will be added to the map proposed by the Department of <br /> Redevelopment. The Committee agreed to the following additions : in the <br /> first district Portage Avenue north. to Elwood including the preweys <br /> complex; in the second .'district there were no new additions ; in the third <br /> district Miami Street from the river to all four corners of Indiana; and <br /> no additions to the fourth, fifth or sixth.. <br /> Councilman Taylor voiced concern over the elimination of "retained <br /> or new jobs" however the Committee appeared to favor 100 new permanent <br /> jobs. <br /> Councilman. Crone asked whether there had been a further discussion <br /> of the filing fee and was informed that both. the City Attorney' s office <br /> and the Council Attorney recommended against a sliding fee. scale. The <br /> Council Attorney was asked to seek input fromtkie-;Clerk' s office, the <br /> Department of Redevelopment, the Department of Code Enforcement and the <br /> Council so that a reasonable fee could be addressed in light of the <br /> time spent on tax abatement petitions by each local agency. <br /> Councilman. Vo.orde. questioned why the annual report of a company <br /> receiving tax abatement would be needed. Since the City does not <br /> presently use this information it was recommended that such.. a requirement <br /> be dropped from the new ordinance. <br /> Following further discusssion, it was recommended that the City <br /> Attorney' s office and the Council Attorney prepare a. new draft of the. <br /> bill which.. would incorporate a new fee., and that the.
