Page 2. <br /> Councilman Szymkowiak stated that $500,000 he believed was not enough <br /> for street improvement programs. He also stated that tree trimming should <br /> be a priority of the City. The staff noted that tree trimming projects were <br /> not eligible for CD Funds. <br /> Jon Hunt noted that the resurfacing estimates listed inthe proposals <br /> were the neighborhood estimates, and that the engineering estimates were <br /> considerably higher. Mrs. Rosenfeld also noted that CD funds could not be <br /> used to displace other funding sources. <br /> Councilman Crone questioned the "neighborhood youth involvement" <br /> proposal and recalled that this was to be a one time expenditure. It was <br /> noted that $21, 300 would provide for one staff person for "techincal <br /> assitance" so that a "how-to-do-it-manual" could be used for several <br /> neighborhood groups. The handbook was developed for the northwest <br /> neighborhood group. <br /> $1. 6 million dollars is projected from the federal jobs bill with a <br /> substantial portion being spent in 1984. <br /> The Brademas project has been pulled and will be re-submitted at a later <br /> time. <br /> It was noted that the public hearing on the Proposed Statement will take . <br /> place October 19th. The Final Statement will come before the Council on <br /> November 14th. Following further discussion the Committee agreed to continue <br /> the discussion on the 1984 CD proposals to October 24th at 4 :00 p.m. <br /> A heated debate then took place between Councilman Crone and <br /> Councilman Beck regarding the four council appointments to the. Urban <br /> Enterprize Zone Board. <br /> Following discussion Councilman Serge made a motion seconded by <br /> Councilman Harris that the meeting be adjourned.
