They <br />shall not travel upon any other public streets of the City, except as provided in Section 20-108(c) <br />20-108.1. <br />Sec. 20-108. – Restrictions <br />(a)No Deviations from the official truck route <br />No person shall drive any truck or vehicle as defined in section Section 20-106 upon <br />any public streets not designated as a truck route in “Schedule A-1 South Bend Truck <br />Route A-1” of the City at any time; provided that such trucks or vehicles may be <br />permitted upon such other public streets of the City, upon the direction of a City or <br />State police officer, to follow a marked and established City detour, to obtain <br />necessary emergency mechanical repairs, or if for safety reasons upon the prior <br />approval of the City Engineer and the Police Department. <br />(b) Shortest truck route. <br />All trucks and vehicles as defined in section 20-106 shall proceed by the shortest <br />combination of State and Federal highways and City truck routes shown upon <br />“Schedule A-1 South Bend Truck Route A-1” and shall be prohibited from driving <br />upon any other City streets unless said vehicle is in the process of delivering or
