While some
items are already procured; the remaining items have recently incurred long lead
times, making early shop drawing review imperative to the project schedule. Also
critical is ensuring bolt patterns for the foundations of these various features
procured so that the contractor can proceed with construction while waiting for
the manufacturing and delivery process. Both items will be emphasized during the
Pre-Construction Meeting and will remain focal points on progress meetings until
completion.
Work on the bridge includes both superstructure and substructure repairs as well as the
addition of new bearings on reconstructed seats, improved abutments, 14-foot concrete
deck, decorative railings, and rail-recessed lighting. Additional improvements include
sandblasting and painting the existing steel bridge members as well as placement of
rip-rap at each pier for scour protection.
Bridge Scour protection will
be placed at each pier. Outside piers
will require cofferdams as excavation
will be required to achieve proper
depth of Rip-Rap placement. LFA will
coordinate with the contractor on work
plan and adherence to permitting
requirements related to working within
the River. Debris removal is anticipated
in advance of the work.
Pre-Cast
Pavilion
Benches
and Trash
Receptacles
Decorative
Concrete
All features with the exception of
the Bike Repair Station/Rack, Drinking
Fountain, Limestone Seatwall, Bridge/Path
Lighting and Decorative Concrete are previously
procured materials being stored at Rum Village.
We will focus efforts on Shop Drawing review
on the listed items for procurement.
Limestone Seatwall Bridge/Path
Lighting
Bike Rack & Repair Station
Bollard and
Swing Gate
Drinking
Fountain and
Dry Well
Wayfinding
Signage
