Access will <br />be off Gumwood Road. The lot does comply with the 40 foot building <br />setback. At the April 18, 1988 meeting, there was a vote of 4-0 in <br />favor of approval. This needs to be confirmed. <br />A new sign is being proposed instead of the current sign that was <br />discussed at the April meeting. This sign will be 12 feet high and 6 <br />feet across. It consists of 2 6"x6" vertical posts with a cross beam <br />supported by two brackets. The corner brackets will be similar to those <br />of the house. The cross beam supports a 2 part sign: the upper portion <br />being 6'x4', the lower being 3'x4'. The signs will be connected to the <br />supports and each other by chains. The design will be as follows: <br />shape -rectangular panels with curved top and bottom; color -all white <br />except for lettering and green line which visually connects the two <br />parts of the sign; letters -plain, block type. <br />The sign will be located 14 feet from the southeast corner of the house, <br />25 feet from the road and 12 feet east of the existing sidewalk. <br />STANDARDS <br />B. Treatment <br />A treatment change of any surface whether on the landmark or its <br />environment may require a Certificate of Appropriateness if it <br />significantly alters the appearance of the landmark . . . and should <br />[be] reviewed] for character and style consistency with the original. <br />F. Signs <br />No neon or flashing signs will be permitted unless they are original to <br />the structure. Billboards and supergraphics will also be disallowed. <br />Only one appropriate identifying sign will be permitted per business. <br />I:1*07yIYI2UM11102 <br />The site plan was approved by the Area Plan Commission in December 1987. <br />Since the parking lot is located in the rear yard and complies with the <br />41 building setback, Staff recommends approval of the plan. <br />
