Kenmore <br /> Bill No. 12-72—Tax Abatement—Waiving Non-Compliance <br /> Update Lincoln Park Neighborhood Plan—Chris Dressel <br /> Vice-Chair Gavin Ferlic opened the hearing with two bills scheduled for consideration. <br /> The first Bill No. 12-71was a petition for real property tax abatement for Indiana Roto- <br /> Molding at 3300 N. Kenmore. David Relos from the Economic Development <br /> Department made the presentation and Jack Welter, President of the company, was <br /> present to answer any questions. David Relos said the applicant qualified for a 3 year <br /> abatement. The company which makes traffic control barrels for road construction plans <br /> to hire 2 new employees with the proposed expansion of the manufacturing facility. <br /> After brief discussion, Henry Davis, Jr., who had arrived just after the hearing began, <br /> moved the bill go to Council favorably. Karen White seconded and all affirmed. <br /> The second bill, Bill No. 12072 was a request for a five year abatement that required a <br /> non-compliance waiver. As explained by Rich Deahl,representing the petitioner, this <br /> was no more than an oversight by the petitioner Olive Cleveland Partners. The Economic <br /> Development Department joined in the waiver request. Mr. Ryan Rans, the petitioner <br /> apologized for the petition error. <br /> Discussion followed. Due to concerns regarding consistency and setting of precedents <br /> the Council while generally expressing support for the request, decided to forward the bill <br /> without recommendation. <br /> The final item on the agenda was an update on the progress of the Lincoln Park <br /> Neighborhood Revitalization Plan. Chris Dressel of Economic Development presented <br /> the plan. (A copy is on file in the Office of the City Clerk.) Council discussion followed. <br /> Council President Dieter suggested that data collected by police patrols in the area be <br /> incorporated into the planning process. <br />
