REGULAR MEETING APRIL 14, 2008 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />BILL NO. 82-07 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2, <br /> ARTICLE 19, SECTION 2-213(A) OF THE <br /> SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE TO UPDATE <br /> THE TABLE OF CODE VIOLATIONS AND <br /> PENALTIES <br /> <br />Councilmember Varner made a motion to strike this bill. Councilmember White <br />seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> <br /> <br />BILL NO. 17-08 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING $2,900 <br /> FROM THE MORRIS PERFORMING ARTS <br /> CENTER AND PALAIS ROYALE MARKETING <br /> FUND (FUND NUMBER 273) FOR PURCHASE <br /> OF MORRIS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER <br /> TICKET STOCK <br /> <br />Councilmember Puzzello, Chairperson, Parc Committee, reported that this committee <br />held a meeting this afternoon and it was the consensus of the committee to send this bill <br />to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> <br />Dennis Andres, Executive Director, The Morris Performing Arts Center, 211 N. <br />Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this bill. <br /> <br />Mr. Andres advised that this bill requests an appropriation of $2,900 within the Morris <br />Performing Arts Center and Palais Royale Marketing Fund (Fund 273). He stated that <br />revenues from this fund are generated from the solicitation of funding for commercial <br />promotion sponsorships and Morris marquee sponsorships. Mr. Andres advised that Mark <br />Tarner of South Bend Chocolate continues to support the costs of the Morris Ticket <br />Stock. This stock with the South Bend Chocolate Co. logo on the reverse side would be <br />used to print over 200,000 admission tickets this year. He urged the Council favorable <br />consideration. <br /> <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br /> <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this bill, Councilmember Varner made a motion for favorable <br />recommendation to full Council concerning this bill.
