Judy Jankowski of Freedom Link stated that the city feels it needs conduit, but small business <br /> feels that big business will get the advantage over them if MetroNet goes forward. She noted <br /> that it is a fairness issue. <br /> Mr. Washington noted that Indianapolis does not have to pay one dollar,but rather City Market, <br /> the Convention Center and the Airport have made financial investments. Evansville was the first <br /> city to sign up for WiFi; Indianapolis and Gary approved SBC. SBC uses pilots if they believe it <br /> may be a"hot technology". <br /> Mr. Dant inquired if MetroNet would go under who does the relocates, and inquired if that <br /> responsibility would not go back to the city until it would find another entity to take over. He <br /> added that there would also be costs for maintenance,upgrades and relocates. <br /> In response to a question from Steve Bay,Mr. Gilot stated that there would be access to the fiber <br /> only and not to the conduit.
