Council Member Puzzello then called for a presentation on Bill No. 05-34 which is a five (5) <br /> year residential real property tax abatement request for Gary and Lisa Anderson for the property <br /> located at 1105 N. Frances Street. <br /> Economic Development Specialist Tedd Schaffer reviewed his report dated March 21, 2005 <br /> (copy attached). He noted that the petitioners plan to construct a 3,100 square foot home. The <br /> project cost is $ 442,000. The report concluded that the petitioners meet the qualifications for a <br /> five (5) year residential tax abatement under Section 2-77.1 of the South Bend Municipal Code <br /> addressing single-family real property abatement. <br /> Lisa Anderson made the presentation. She stated that they are delighted to be in the area and <br /> hoped that the Committee would recommend the resolution favorably. <br /> Council Member Kelly made a motion, seconded by Citizen Member Martha Lewis that Bill No. <br /> 05-34 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. <br /> Under miscellaneous business, Executive Director of the Depat ttuent of Community and <br /> Economic Development introduced Ruth Conway, who is a senior at Saint Mary's College. She <br /> is shadowing Sharon and studying the public process. <br /> Ms. Kendall noted that they are looking into various environmental issues at one of the southside <br /> development areas.
