Commissioner Gordon made a motion on section one of COA #2018-1001D. Taylor's Field — I've been in the community all my life, <br />I've rehabbed over ten houses, saved some of them from being demolished. How many <br />members in this Historic Preservation Commission know where the West Washington <br />Historic District is? How about the Chapin Park Avenue area? Anyone here heard of the <br />Taylor's Field Historic District? That's why I'm here. Historic Taylor's Field Historic <br />District; its been a district from the late 1970s to the early 1980s. The condition of the <br />housing in the area has not been improved over the years — its kind of been like a step- <br />child of the Historic Commission. I believe what I would like to suggest is that this <br />Commission go into this district, take a look at the housing stock, and make some sort of <br />recommendation as to what should be done to this District. This area here, is part of the <br />Monroe Park Neighborhood Association, And I believe it should be more aggressive. A <br />lot of money has been put into the West Washington district, and others. More money put <br />into these other districts. The Commission should be involved. The Housing stock needs <br />work —there are a few gems, but most need work. You guys take a look at it, and make a • <br />20 <br />
