Prospective projects for which we will responsibly seek approval (COA)
• Neighbor fence
Our driveway and parking area cause headlights to shine directly into the living
room of our neighbor to the north. I have met with them and discussed this issue
and wish to provide them some light and sound barrier protections. A berm and
period -style fence was discussed and plans are being designed to present for COA.
® Portico
At some point prior to our purchase of the home, the front door portico was
removed and not replaced. We have vintage photos indicating the style and
appearance of the portico and are in the process of designing and drawing up plans
to present for COA. (image: original portico, current portico)
• Corn crib barn
Similar to the restoration of the side of the garage, we plan to propose a
restoration of the original corn crib. This will entail structural work as
well as roofing, and painting of the slatted structure, hopefully with
minimal need for replacement of sections. We will present a defined
plan in the coming months for a COA. (See images in early section)
® Windmill
Vintage photos show a windmill on the property just to the east of the former
barn site. It is our plan to get approval to have a vintage or character (non-
functional) windmill installed on the farm again. We have begun our search
regionally, but will seek a general COA prior to purchase to assure anticipated
appearance, height, and suitability.
o Silo cap
The silo on the property does not have a cap. It also has a non-
functional street light at the top of the structure. Our goal is to
remove the light, secure the steps to prevent unauthorized access
(safety reasons) and restore a vintage -style cap. We have similarly
begun our search regionally, but will seek a general COA prior to
purchase and installation.
