JOSEPH STREET <br />RATING, CONTRIBUTING <br />HOMEOWNER SIGRID THANOS <br />WORK PROPOSED REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT OF WOOD FRONT <br />PORCH COLUMN WITH LIKE COLUMN. <br />HAVE HAD A NUMBER OF CONVERSATIONS WITH THE HOMEOWNER OVER <br />THE MONTHS AS TO WHETHER SHE IS REALLY (THIS WAS THE THIRD TIME <br />I HAVE DROPPED OFF A NORTH ST. JOSEPH STREET STANDARDS BOOK <br />TO THIS ADDRESS) IN AN HISTORIC DISTRICT AND WHAT THAT MEANS. . <br />SHE HAS ALSO SPOKEN AT LENGTH IN THE MONTH OF AUGUST NOT ONLY <br />WITH THE DIRECTOR BUT WITH LARRY METEIVER AND WAYNE <br />DOOLITTLE CONCERNING THE SAME ISSUES. <br />SHE HAS A DETERIORATING PORCH COLUMN THAT WAS SECURED TO ITS <br />BASE WITH A CAULK REPAIR THAT IS NOW FAILING MISERABLY AND <br />CAUSING THE PORCH ROOF TO SAG IN THAT LOCATION. IN OUR <br />CONVERSATION I POINTED OUT THAT HAD SHE USED A CONTRACTOR <br />THAT WAS SKILLED IN WOOD REPAIRS THAT THIS FAILURE WOULDN'T <br />HAVE OCCURRED. COSMETICALLY THE QUICK FIXES WORK FOR A SHORT <br />TIME, BUT IN THE END CAUSE MUCH MORE DAMAGE AND EXPENSE. <br />SHE SENT HER CONTRACTOR, D&D HOME MAINTENANCE, IN TO APPLY <br />FOR A COA. HE DECIDED TO APPLY FOR AN IN-KIND REPLACEMENT <br />AFTER LOOKING OVER THE INFORMATION ON THE ABATRON PRODUCT <br />LINE AND NOT WANTING TO DELAY THE PROJECT WITH AN APPLICATION <br />FOR A COMPOSITE COLUMN. <br />
