Assistant Director's Report <br />HPC Meeting 02.22.2010 <br />1. City Cemetery National Register Nomination <br />Researched at SJCPL Local History department, researched online (to no <br />success), researched at Center for History Archives. Read through entire <br />nomination, striking and adding information as needed. Scan over DHPA <br />nomination guidelines documents to guide me in the nomination process. <br />2. Lunch and Learn Lecture <br />Attend 01.28.10 presentation by HLFI, Todd Zeiger, 02.04.10 lecture on <br />economic development with Don Inks of C&ED and WNIT, 02.11.10 <br />presentation on East Bank by Jitin of DTSB and Eddy Street Commons, <br />02.18.10 lecture on SB Schools with Kapsa <br />3. Attend "Sell South Bend" 01.28.10 class for realtors at the South Bend <br />Community Schools Offices with discussions by Jim Kapsa, Superintendent and <br />Susan Coney, Director of Communications, 02.04.10 presentation by Todd Zeiger <br />of HLFI on "Why Historic Preservation", 02.11.10 presentation at Oliver Inn by <br />Todd Zeiger on Historic Architecture & Styles, 02.18.10 lecture by Jitin Kain & <br />Don Inks, C&ED and tour of Eddy Street Commons Foundry Apartments <br />4. Restore Michiana turned Green Weekend <br />Research last years DTSB EcoFest & WNIT Green Expo. Contact DTSB to <br />get further info on sponsorship/ vendor participation. Hosted planning <br />meeting in HPC conference room. Prepare for meeting with DTSB. <br />Jennifer Gregar of HLFI and I met with DTSB Marco Mariani, Michele <br />Kastner, and Jitin Kain. Email correspondence with Lezlie O'Hara of <br />WNIT. Hosted another planning meeting in HPC conference room. <br />Meeting with Lezlie of WNIT in HPC conference room. <br />5. Southhold event <br />—Contact DTSB to discuss possibility of partnering Southhold with "Pride <br />of Place" awards. Jennifer and I met with Jitin regarding Southhold/Pride of <br />Place Awards to discuss partnership... moving forward. Review past files to <br />collect "clues". Correspondence with Natalie of CBRE on rental of the American <br />Trust Place space. Collect quotes for event & prepare budget. Prepare <br />nomination/ criteria form. Tour Circa Arts to review possible artists to <br />commission for award creation. <br />6. Prepare KPEF fellowships for myself and Catherine. Discuss .sponsorship <br />with HPC President Klusczinski. Correspond with KPEF coordinator. Attend <br />County Commissioner meeting to receive permission to apply for KPEF <br />fellowships. Submit information as prepared to President Klusczinski. Mail <br />signed documents to KPEF coordinator. <br />7. Attend Old House Expo in Kalamazoo; Lecture by Bob Yapp. <br />
