The first storey if finished with narrow wood clapboards while the second <br />storey has rounded and diamond shaped shingles. The two stories are divided by a belt <br />course of vertical siding and elaborately trimmed. The hip roof has gable dormers along <br />with tower and bays with mansard wrapping around the rear corner. There are detailed <br />carvings at roof edges and dormers. There is a corner tower with overhanging chamfered <br />corner supported by two spindle columns. The window openings are simple double hung <br />sashes with pilaster trim and carved corner blocks. The front door way are panel wood <br />double leaf doors with single light and multi -pane over and below with a stained glass <br />transom <br />ALTERATIONS: The tower has been shortened. The verandah was been removed and <br />replaced with two porches leading to the main entrance and the east side entrance. <br />APPLICATION ITEMS: The brick foundation repair will be completed by Russ <br />Luchie of Slatile Masonry Restoration. The existing compromised and cracking brick <br />will be repaired using new load bearing brick masonry reinforcing and strengthening the <br />foundation wall on the exterior. Next a "historically correct" lime putty artisan masonry <br />parge coat will be applied to the brick leaving a smooth surface with a yellowish cast. A <br />raised bead mortar detail will be added to the lime putty coat to give the effect and look <br />of traditional brick. New gutters ill be installed by Ernie Barany of E.J. Barany. The <br />new gutters will be seamless aluminum with a K -style profile that will complement the <br />existing molding at the roof line. <br />DISCRIPTION OF PROPOSED PROJECT: The homeowners have engaged Mr. <br />Luchies of Slatile.
