Historic Preservation Commission <br />President's Report — September 15th, 2008 <br />08/19: Chapin Park Neighborhood Association (Chocolate Cafe). Presented <br />"Understanding Local Preservation and the role of the HPC" — an introduction to <br />preservation theory, mechanics, guidelines and practice. Discussed the HPC's <br />organizational relationships with other agencies and homeowner strategies for <br />maintenance and improvements (especially regarding WINDOWS). Also <br />advertised the City and County Survey booklets. <br />• 08/29: Restore Michiana Planning Session (Conference Room). Others present: <br />Amy Minnick, Jennifer Gregar, Todd Zeiger, Linda Riley, and Wayne Doolittle. <br />The purpose of the meeting was to consider applying for a National Trust <br />Preservation Funds Grant that could be used to enhance the Restore Michiana <br />2009 event, with respect to advertisement, speaker, video projects and more. <br />
