2 Materials to be Used <br />The windows are to be replaced with Marvin Insert wood windows (to be ordered through Quality Window <br />& Door, 27888 Co Rd 32 W, Elkhart), brochures for which are located in Appendix 2. The front storm door <br />is to be replaced with a Larson aluminum storm door (to be ordered through Lowes). Brochures for the <br />storm door are located in Appendix 3. <br />Window Replacement , <br />Of the 18 windows to be replaced, the 12 double hung wood windows, the 1 hinged wood window, and 2 <br />of the vinyl picture windows are to be replaced with Marvin Ultimate Insert Double Hung wood windows <br />(for a total of 15). These windows feature low emissivity argon insulating glass, traditional sash locks, <br />primed wood (pine) interiors, and extruded aluminum clad exteriors (in Sierra White color to match the <br />off-white trim color of the existing windows). The windows will all have simulated divided lites in which <br />the bars are permanently adhered to both sides of the glass, dividing each sash into 6 lights (3 over 3). This <br />configuration matches the existing widows. The bars of the simulated divided lights will be a -inch thick to <br />match the dimensions of those in the existing windows. The windows will all have full exterior screens with <br />an aluminum surround. These windows are located throughout the house, as described in detail below. <br />Two of the vinyl picture windows (in the den on the first floor facing the front and rear of the house as <br />described below) are to be replaced with Marvin insert picture wood windows. These windows are similar to <br />the double hung windows described above, except they are single, stationary units without hardware. They <br />will be single lites without any screens. The vinyl picture window above the kitchen sink is to be replaced <br />with a Marvin Insert Awning wood window. This window features one -lite insulating glass, traditional <br />hardware, primed wood (pine) interior, and extruded aluminum clad exterior (in Sierra White color to match <br />the other windows). The window will have a charcoal fiberglass screen with an aluminum surround. <br />Front Storm Door <br />The front storm door is to be replaced with a Larson Classic -View Full -View aluminum storm door, model <br />number 350-17. The door has a 1.25 -inch thick heavy -gauge aluminum mainframe with a maintenance -free <br />finish in an almond color that will match the existing off-white trim color of the existing windows. It has a <br />full -view clear glass and brushed nickel finish exterior and interior handles. <br />3 <br />
