On Wednesday, May 8, 2008, Thomas Feehan of The Feehan <br />Corporation (52105 Woodridge Drive, South Bend) conducted a whole -house inspection of the property <br />per the current owners' purchase agreement with the previous owner. Feehan's summary of the inspection, <br />found in Appendix 1 of this application; states in item 4: "In the living room open the paint sealed windows. <br />Throughout the house the windows are paint stuck, have broken sash cords, loose putty and chipping lead <br />based paint. Repair or replace the windows:' The 30 windows in the house consist of: <br />• 16 double hung wood windows <br />— 8 with bare aluminum storms (request to replace all) <br />— 5 with wood storms (request to replace 1, others to be retained and repaired) <br />— 3 with white aluminum storms (request to replace all) <br />• 5 vinyl picture windows (request to replace all) <br />• 4 wood windows that match the rear French doors (to be retained) <br />• 3 hinged wood windows (request to replace 1, others to be retained and repaired) <br />• 2 leaded glass wood windows (to be retained) <br />The owners met with three different contractors to explore their options for repairing and replacing the <br />windows as recommended by the inspection. Based upon these consultations, the owners herein request to <br />replace 18 of the 30 windows in the house with Marvin Insert wood windows in order to: <br />1 <br />
