The Roundup will be held in Fort Wayne at the Main Branch of the Allen County Public Library on Saturday, May 12, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EDT. This event is being hosted locally by ARCH, Inc., the City of Fort Wayne Department of Community Development and Historic Preservation Commission, the_ West Central Neighborhood Association, and The History Center. The Roundup is a free and informal event open to anyone interested in local history and: the preservation of historic resources for future generations to use and enjoy. It is intended to help local preservationists make connections with each other and the State Historic Preservation Office for the common cause of preserving local landmarks and heritage. Participants will have the chance to learn about the DHPA's programs, give brief presentations about their organizations' successes, challenges, and activities, and network with colleagues. Lunch and afternoon refreshments will be provided. Enclosed is a flyer about the event and a tentative schedule of the day's activities. After the informational session and lunch, there will be a tour of local preservation highlights, followed by refreshments and an opportunity to network with other participants. If you cannot attend, please pass this flyer on to someone else who might be interested. If you belong to a preservation- related group or organization, please share this information with other members.
