♦ L�w 4 <br />INDIANA DIVISION OF <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />AND ARCHAEOLOGY <br />The Thirteenth Annual <br />Grassroots Preservation - Roundup <br />IDEA EXCHANGE - <br />Sponsored by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, <br />Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology (DHPA); <br />Hosted by ARCH, Inc., <br />City of Fort Wayne Department of Community Development and <br />Historic Preservation Commission, 1 <br />West Central Neighborhood Association, and <br />The History Center <br />Who should attend? <br />Many different people and organizations can benefit by attending the Grassroots Preservation Roundup, especially: <br />➢ Members of local historic preservation commissions and review boards; <br />➢ Members of local historical-societies and preservation organizations; <br />➢ Main Street organization managers, members, and volunteers; <br />➢ Individuals interested in preservation of local heritage. <br />Why should you attend? <br />The Grassroots Preservation Roundup IDEA EXCHANGE was created to allow local preservation organizations the <br />opportunity to: <br />➢ Meet DHPA staff and learn about state programs and opportunities for historic preservation; <br />➢ Network with individuals from other local organizations in an informal setting; <br />➢ Discuss and explore possible solutions to common preservation problems; <br />➢ Share stories of local preservation accomplishments, challenges, and on -going projects; <br />➢ See preservation highlights of the host community. <br />When and where will we meet? <br />Saturday, May 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EDT at the Main Branch of the Allen County Public Library in <br />downtown Fort Wayne. (Once you RSVP, we'll send you a map, parking instructions, and everything else you need <br />to know.) <br />What do you need to do? <br />i RSVP to Steve Kennedy or Malia Savarino in the DHPA Grants Section no later than Friday, May 4, 2007. This <br />r is event is FREE, but reservations are required in order to make proper arrangements for lunch, refreshments, and <br />tours. Reservations will be accepted on a first -come, first -served basis.. Please bring the ideas, stories, and experiences that you have had in your <br />respective cities, towns, and neighborhoods. Participants are invited to bring brochures or other materials to share <br />with colleagues from around the state. The Roundup normally has about 50 participants. <br />What should you wear? <br />Dress comfortably — this is an informal gathering of friends from the field of preservation. Come prepared for the <br />weather and wear comfortable walking shoes for the afternoon tour. <br />
