Spring 2007
` ` Habitat for Humanityn
St. Joseph County
TOWNE Towne Air Freight Says
AIR FREIGHT _.,s "HO Ho HOME!"
A nyone involved with last year's Texas Build may remember the Big White Truck. It held walls, doors, windows, and hope.
Towne Air Freight's Big White Truck transported a pre -built Habitat house thousands of miles, from South Bend to
Hurricane Katrina victims in Texas.
This year, Towne Air Freight is at it again. But this time, the Big White Truck won't be going very far. Towne employees from
all over the region will spend time on the Construction site of a Habitat home here in South Bend.
It all started when Towne Air Freight President, Tom Downey, made a heartfelt decision to cancel the company Christmas party
Okay, so it wasn't cancelled —it was rescheduled for May of this year. Though the ,
Christmas cookies and punch will be traded in for hammers and nail aprons, the
Christmas theme remains. Towne employees may have a striking resemblance to Santa ITOtNE
and his elves as they work to deliver a home to a local family in our community. '
Not only will this be Towne's first Christmas in May, but this will be Habitat for
Humanity's very first Towne house in St. Joseph County. Ho -Ho -Home!
2007 Thrivent Lutheran House
This year the `Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity" initiative will make the dreams
of 355 families come true throughout the country. And one of those will be built in St.
Joseph County for Mark Plummer and Natalie Kuplic, who say that, "Becoming
homeowners has always been one of our dreams. We feel blessed that this opportunity
is available to us since we have such a large family."
9Buids
Habitat I Thriven[ Financial
baas.w r- for Lutherans
In November we received the news that Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will provide over $50,000 toward the construction of
this house.
