Email Exchanges: <br />Recently, I've observed an improvement in the transfer electronic exchanges between my email <br />client and the staffs county email addresses. However, it was conveyed to me that glitches still <br />exist for information exchanged between the County and City servers. As a fail -safe measure an <br />alternate mail address (hpcl973 @gmail.com) was created to assure open intra - departmental <br />communications. <br />2. Landmarks Committee — Chair, Linda Riley <br />No report. <br />3. Southhold Awards Breakfast — Director Hostetler <br />Reservations are being received. At the time of the meeting, approximately 12 had come in. The <br />keynote, Bill Latoza is confirmed and will be arriving in South Bend on Friday, May 4 th for a tour <br />of Marquette in advance of his talk. Marquette Principal and Director Hostetler have confirmed <br />the time and details of the visit. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS <br />V. NEW BUSINESS <br />Assistant Director Herdman informed Commissioners that she'd been awarded an NEA tuition <br />scholarship (valued at $525.00) to attend 2 NPI Workshops scheduled for May 7 -9, 2007 in <br />Greensboro, NC. The subject matter will be Cemetery Preservation and Cemetery Landscapes. <br />AD Herdman requested that in lieu of attendance at Cornelius O'Brien, those funds be used for <br />associated travel expenses for the NPI workshops. After a discussion about subject matter, the <br />availability of programming using the skills/knowledge learned, Commissioners moved to <br />approve up to $500.00 in travel/accommodations expenses. <br />Moved: Zeiger Second: Sporleder <br />Authorization of $500.00 for Approved: Unanimously. <br />travel and expenses. <br />VI. HEARING OF VISITORS <br />Don Sporleder reviewed the festivities of National Architecture Week which was April 9, 2007. He <br />also praised the 21" Century College Town conference held at ND, particularly Alicia Burg's <br />contribution. Mr. Sporleder also reminded the Commission of the upcoming ND Architecture event <br />on April 26, 2007 at 5:15pm in the 4` floor Council Chambers, and of the Lincoln Highway <br />Association dedication and reception on April 21, 2007 between 14pm.
