STAFF REPORT <br />CONCERNING APPLICATION FOR A <br />CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS <br />Date: September 7, 2005 <br />Application Number: 2005-0906 <br />Property Location: 930 Riverside Drive <br />Property Owner: Shannon and William Brewster <br />Landmark or District Designation: Chapin Park Local Historic District / NRD <br />Rating: S/11 <br />STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE/IIISTORIC CONTEXT <br />Built in 1908 as a rental property for Jennie L. Sharples who purchased the land from Mary E. Anderson <br />nee Chapin in 1901. This is a frame Queen Anne with a brick foundation. <br />APPLICATION ITEMS: Add a 2 storey 5'x12' rear porch to addition already approved and under <br />construction. The proposed rear porch with a second level accessed by the master bedroom. The roofline of <br />the proposed back porch will be similar to the front porch roof with spindles and handrails mimicking the front <br />porch. Brad Pontius, Contractor. Additional information and drawings will be available for the <br />Commissioner's review at the meeting. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff Recommends approval. This will be an addition to a rear addition and <br />will be in keeping with the existing architectural features in the front of the house. <br />
