RESOLUTION NO. 05"0,2 A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION OF SOUTH BEND AND ST. JOSEPH COUNTY APPROVING CHANGES TO THE STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES FOR THE CHAPIN PARK DISTRICT WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend and St. Joseph County (the "Commission") exists and operates under the provisions of ordinances enacted by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana (the "Common Council") and the County Council of St. Joseph County (collectively, the "Ordinance"); and WHEREAS, the Ordinance authorizes and directs the Commission to establish standards and guidelines for each historic preservation district within its jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, the Commission approved proposed standards and guidelines for the Chapin Park District (the "District") and distributed the same to homeowners in the District via regular mail prior to the District's establishment; and WHEREAS, the Commission recommended to the Common Council that the District be established as an historic preservation district, which recommendation was accepted and approved by the Common Council by Ordinance No. 9574-05 on March 14, 2005; and WHEREAS, the Commission, after extensive public hearings and opportunities for public comment, adopted certain changes to the standards and guidelines on June 15, 2005 (the "Standards and Guidelines"); and WHEREAS, subsequent to the aforementioned adoption; the Commission has received requests to amend the Standards and Guidelines further and the Commission has duly considered such requests; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION OF SOUTH BEND AND ST. JOSEPH COUNTY AS FOLLOWS: 1. The Commission hereby adopts and approves the Standards and Guidelines, as amended and as presented to Commission at this meeting, and the Secretary of the Commission shall include a copy of said Standards and Guidelines with the minutes of this meeting. 2. The Commission hereby authorizes and directs the staff of the Commission to distribute. a copy of the Standards and Guidelines, as amended, to the various neighborhood associations of the District, which they believe, in their sole discretion, should be aware of the enactment of such amendments. The Commission hereby further authorizes and directs the staff of the Commission to post on the Commission's website a complete copy of the Standards and Guidelines, as amended, and to make two (2) copies of such Standards and Guidelines available for inspection by the public at the office of the Commission.
