THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
OF SOUTH BEND & ST. CALL TO ORDER
JOHN OXIAN: Called the meeting to order at 7:34.
IL PUBLIC HEARING
A. CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS
1. 2003-0507; 928 Riverside Drive; (a) Replace 6'- stockade fence --
along side and back of back yard with three feet six inch cedar
picket fence; remove original wire fence from drive way side of
yard and replace with three foot six inch cedar picket fence.
KAREN HAMMOND NASH: (See attached -Staff Report). The director had received a letter from
Shannon and William Brewster, (next door neighbors), stating that the planned removal of the
stockade fence and installation of the picket fence -is a needed and an appropriate improvement.
ERIN CAMILLERI: (Was present to answer questions from commission members).
JOANN SPORLEDER: The wire fence in question is just a piece of fence between you and your
neighbors; it doesn't really enclose anything at the moment, is that correct?
ERIN CAMILLERL Not really. The original wire fence enclosed part of the yard, but, it does not
do that anymore. Our main concerns with the fence are it does not contain our dog, which happens
to be a big dog,'and our one year old neighbor loves to play on the broken rusty fence, and that is an
accident waiting to happen.
