Dist. <br />Rating: non -cont. <br />Survey Number: <br />Key Number: <br />none assigned <br />Statement of Significance & Historic Context <br />Seth Hammond sold the Lot to Christian & Anna Soens in 1903. The Soens built <br />the house in 1912. <br />Mr. Soens was born in Wisconsin in 1852, came to South Bend in 1891, Married <br />Anna C. Jenniches in 1896. Mr. Soens was a sewer contractor and brick manufacturer. They <br />built the duplex and lived in unit 508 while renting 510. <br />Woodhaven Homes Company bought the house in 1944 then sold it to Charles <br />Cataldo who rented out both units until 1949 when it was sold to Larry Shirk. Mr. Shirk died <br />in 1966 and left the house to his wife Mary who sold the house to Joseph Roskuski in 1973. <br />Page: 1 <br />
