"THE MILLENNIUM COMMUNITY COMPACT" <br />Millennium charter communities are committing to the program and the <br />future. Communities completing the following process will be leaders in <br />addressing the future both locally and for the entire state. The action steps for <br />chartering are listed below: <br />• 1998 - JOIN OTHER CHARTER COMMUNITIES AROUND THE STATE <br />DESIGNATE a leader and a guiding group. <br />FILL OUT an "intent to participate" form and... <br />RETURN IT to the Millennium Task Force staff. <br />✓ Forms can be obtained by calling coordinator, Carole Darst, <br />317-849-0133 or Program Director, Marty Peters, 317-28378175. <br />• 1998-1999 - INITIATE OR CONTINUE, YOUR BROAD-BASED COMMUNITY <br />PROCESS -- beginning.as soon as possible after your commitment, to <br />consider the four basic questions: <br />Where did you come from as a community? Who are you <br />today as a community? What is your vision for the future? <br />How will you make your vision a reality? <br />✓ To support you in your process, "Tool Boxes" and resource guides will <br />be given to each community beginning in August, 1998; workshops and <br />presentations will be given throughout the year around the state; and <br />Task Force members and volunteers will be available to work with you <br />throughout the program. <br />• 1999 - WORK ON YOUR PROCESS - <br />REMEMBER your community's unique heritage through the eyes of , <br />many different community sector representatives and citizens, <br />6/8/98 CRDarst <br />
