Tndi ans <br />The present consultants developed the historic context, completing <br />local research as well as relying upon the extensive research <br />conducted by the survey teams over the years. The single context for <br />the multiple property listing, Industrial Era Development in the East <br />Bank, 1867 - 1947, was defined to include the broad scope of community <br />development that occurred in this specific geographic area of South <br />Bend. In addition, the associations with industry which were strong <br />for the community as a whole, could be seen to have special <br />applications in the East Bank area as well and secondary effects of <br />this broad historical trend affected a wide range of community <br />activities and services.
