CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS STAFF REPORT <br />• ratios of the existing structures should be carried through in the additions. <br />Care should be taken not to change or alter the following: <br />2.) Construction and Style: All work should be done in the architectural <br />style and in a technique compatible with that of the original structure. <br />Change that alters, removes, or covers existing significant stylistic detail <br />shall not be permitted. A change which adds detail of another style will not <br />be permitted. <br />3.) Materials: Additions and improvements involving any new material in the <br />landmark should be of the same material as the original. It should be the <br />same size and texture. An alternative material may be allowed if it <br />duplicates the original. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The existing house is brick and had been previously moved from a location that <br />had a garage with siding. The roof on the garage being proposed will be a hip <br />roof so as to be diminutive in style and proportion to assure proper scale to <br />the house. This proposal is appropriate and staff recommends approval. <br />• <br />0 <br />
